What have we here? What is this Collection? Yes, it is two digitally released EPs combined on one place. However, it can also be seen as the companion piece to Alphabet City 2 AM. The Midnight Special is largely made up of songs from that era that were not recorded during the studio sessions for the original album. The second piece is Hundred Song Highway, an archival collection of alternate takes primarily from the Alphabet City sessions. These were recorded in my apartment. I thought they had their own charm and show how the Alphabet City music naturally connects to Mood Music.
